52% Ukrainians oppose transfer of Donbas to Russia in exchange for security guarantees
Most Ukrainians are 52% - perform against the transfer of Donbas to Russia in exchange for security guarantees. At the same time 40% of respondents are ready to support this option. This is evidenced by the results of the survey Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
How opinions were divided
According to the study:
52% of respondents are against the transfer of Donbas to Russia for any security guarantees;
40% - are ready to accept such a compromise;
The remaining respondents were undecided.
Context.
The issue of territorial concessions as part of a possible agreement to end the war remains one of the most sensitive for Ukrainian society. Despite war fatigue, the majority of citizens continue to defend the principle of the territorial integrity of the state.
Sociologists note that public sentiment can change depending on the situation at the front, the level of international support and security guarantees discussed at the diplomatic level.
