Incident on the railway
In Kalynivka, an ammunition explosion occurred during rail transport with subsequent detonation. The incident prompted a quick halt to train traffic on the section and a large-scale evacuation of passengers.
Evacuation of people
Hundreds of passengers from the Kharkiv-Przemyśl train No. 73 were urgently taken to a nearby forest belt to avoid danger. They were later transported by bus to a safe place. According to preliminary information, there were no injuries among the passengers.
Service response
Emergency services, police and medics arrived at the scene. The area has been cordoned off and measures are being taken to localise the aftermath of the explosion. Experts are investigating the cause of the detonation and checking whether there is a threat of repeated explosions.
