«Atesh» guerrillas disrupt occupiers' ammunition supply near Melitopol
Partisans of the movement «Atesh» have successfully sabotaged a railway line near Melitopol, disrupting the supply of ammunition and fuel to Russian troops. According to the agents, this was a section of railway about 50 kilometres from the front line that was damaged as a result of the operation.
How the sabotage took place
The railway infrastructure used by the Russian occupiers to transfer ammunition was disabled, which stopped the movement of enemy trains. This gave Ukrainian forces the opportunity to conduct precision strikes on the wagons with ammunition and fuel that the enemy was trying to deliver to the Kherson and part of the Zaporizhzhia sectors.
As a result of rocket and artillery strikes, ammunition, fuel and some of the equipment transported by the Russians in these echelons were burnt.
The value of the operation
Disruption of logistics in the occupied territories is a critical element in deterring the Russian army's offensive capabilities. The Melitopol hub is one of the key logistics corridors, and the Atesh sabotage once again demonstrates the effectiveness of the guerrilla movement in the TOT.
Ukrainian forces continue to cooperate with the underground, which regularly provides intelligence on the movement of Russian echelons and ammunition depots.
