
In Belgorod, Russian aircraft accidentally dropped a bomb on a substation: the city plunged into blackout
A large-scale explosion has occurred in Belgorod due to the accidental dropping of a bomb by Russian aircraft on a local power substation. This was reported by local TV channels and Telegram channels, citing witnesses to the incident.
According to residents, there were no air raid warnings before the explosion. People heard a loud roar of a plane over the city, followed by a sudden, extremely powerful explosion.
Consequences.
A large crater was created in the area of the impact, and the surrounding streets were left without power. Damage to the substation caused a massive blackout in a part of the city. Emergency services are working at the site and the area has been cordoned off.
It is not only the power supply that has been disrupted - local residents have also reported problems with communication and the Internet.
Government response
The governor of the Belgorod region described the incident as «the arrival of an unidentified munition», avoiding confirming the information about the Russian military's mistake. There is no official comment from the Russian Ministry of Defence.
