In Brazil, the large-scale armed confrontation between state forces and criminal groups that control most of the drug trade in the country.
Local authorities actually declared war on drug cartels, by launching an operation to dismantle criminal networks in major cities.
Bloody clashes in a matter of hours
According to local media reports, less than an hour after the start of the operation, street fighting about 80 people died.
The operation involved more than 2500 security forces, including special forces, aviation and armoured vehicles.
The aim of the government is to establishing control over the districts, where drug clans have been operating for years and holding power there.
FPV drones are a new weapon for criminals
Criminal groups are actively using FPV drones for blocking streets, attacking law enforcement officers and obstructing the movement of equipment.
According to police estimates, these gangs control up to 70% of the drug market in the country, have powerful weapons and their own «armies» of militants.
Authorities declare «steadfastness»
The President and Government of Brazil have stated that will not deviate from the plan of «complete destruction of cartels», despite the significant human losses.
Analysts call these events the most serious internal crisis in the country in the last decade.
