
A unique cooperation project
As reported by European Pravda, the Czech Republic will become the first country to donate an Earth observation satellite to Ukraine.
This is part of a bilateral project that will strengthen Ukraine's capabilities in the areas of intelligence, monitoring the effects of hostilities and environmental monitoring.
According to the Czech government, the satellite will be equipped with synthetic aperture radar (SAR), The new camera will allow you to capture high-precision images regardless of the weather or lighting conditions.
For defence, science and reconstruction
Having its own satellite will open up new opportunities for Ukraine in the field of..:
monitoring the frontline and occupied territories,
assessing damage and planning for reconstruction,
control of natural resources and the environment,
development of national space technologies.
The Ukrainian side is already preparing a group of specialists to integrate with Czech partners and set up data reception stations.
Support from allies
According to representatives of the Czech government, the transfer of the satellite is a symbolic gesture trust and strategic partnership with Ukraine.
«We want to help Ukraine see more - and defend itself more effectively,» said a representative of the Czech Ministry of Transport.
The spacecraft is expected to enter orbit at the end of 2025, and the first data will be available in 2026.
