A series of explosions were recorded in the Russian city of Orel at night, caused by an attack by unknown drones. Local resources report that seven to ten explosions were heard in the city in the first 30 minutes alone.

The Russian authorities do not officially report which objects were hit. Local Telegram channels report on air defence operations and possible damage to infrastructure.

Fire at Nevinnomysskiy Azot«

There were also explosions in the Stavropol Territory. The Nevinnomyssky Azot chemical plant was initially hit. After the explosions, a fire broke out on the territory of the plant, which, according to local reports, took several hours to contain.

The company is one of the largest producers of nitrogen fertilisers, ammonia and raw materials for explosives in Russia. Due to the nature of the production process, the incident could pose significant environmental and man-made risks, but official Russian authorities have traditionally kept the extent of the damage under wraps.
