Dnipro did not support the allocation of UAH 1.4 billion for the Armed Forces

On 25 March, members of the majority coalition of the Dnipro City Council did not support the draft law on allocating UAH 1.4 billion from the reserve fund for the needs of the Defence Forces.

During the session of the Dnipro City Council, the deputies did not include the issue of helping the military on the agenda. The project was initiated by Hromadska Syla and Servant of the People.

Deputies did not support the project

On 25 March, at a session of the Dnipro City Council, members of the majority coalition refused to consider the allocation of UAH 1.4 billion from the budget reserve fund to help the Defence Forces.

The draft decision was submitted by the Hromadska Syla and Servant of the People factions. Only 16 MPs voted in favour of including this issue in the agenda.

Reaction of the initiators

Leader of the Hromadska Syla party« Zagid Krasnov said that each deputy had shown their position on the defence of the city. He stressed that some of the deputies were indifferent to the lives of the military and residents.

Context.

The budget reserve fund is used for urgent needs of the community, including support for defence capability. The decision to allocate funds is made by the city council by voting. Proposals to support the Defence Forces are regularly submitted to local councils across Ukraine.
