Over UAH 700 million to be invested in military hospitals from the state budget - Shmyhal

The government plans to invest over UAH 700 million in the development of military hospitals. The funding is provided for in the state budget and will be implemented in 2026, said Denis Shmygal.

Funding details

According to Mr Shmyhal, the funds will be used in several key areas:

  • completion of construction projects already underway;

  • development of new project documentation;

  • start of construction of new military medical infrastructure facilities.

Funding should ensure the upgrade and expansion of treatment options for military personnel.

Context.

During the full-scale war, the burden on the military healthcare system increased significantly. Ukrainian hospitals are treating thousands of wounded defenders, which requires modernisation of facilities and equipment and the creation of new treatment capacities.

The government has repeatedly stated that the development of military medicine is one of the priorities of the state's defence and social policy.
