Ukraine will receive $8.1 billion: IMF changes financing terms

Introduction VAT for individual entrepreneurs, new duties on international parcels, separate tax for digital platforms and increase military tax is not currently planned. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko.

What tax changes are not being considered

According to the official, the government is not preparing any decisions on the issue:

  • introduction VAT for individual entrepreneurs;

  • introduction of additional duties on international postal items;

  • creation of a separate tax for digital platforms;

  • promotion military tax.

Thus, the tax burden on businesses and individuals in the short term will remain unchanged.

IMF programme conditions eased

Svyrydenko also said that International Monetary Fund revised the parameters of the new loan programme for Ukraine and made them softer.

We are talking about financing in the amount of 8.1 billion USD, which it should support:

  • budget stability;

  • macro-financial state sustainability;

  • further economic recovery in a time of war.

Context.

Tax policy remains one of the key issues for Ukrainian businesses during the full-scale war. The government is trying to keep the balance between filling the budget and supporting entrepreneurship.

At the same time, cooperation with the IMF is critical for financial stability of Ukraine and securing international assistance.
