Due to the systematic failure of voting in the Verkhovna Rada, all state payments, including social packages and infrastructure funding, may be blocked. MP Andriy Motovylovets warns that the EU and the IMF will not provide Ukraine with the necessary funds without the adoption of key bills.
Failure of draft laws in the Rada poses a threat to the budget
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regularly fails to vote on important bills, which poses risks to the stability of public finances. MP Andriy Motovilovets notes that without the adoption of these laws, the country risks being left without funding for social programmes and infrastructure projects.
This could lead to the blocking of payments of social packages and pensions, as well as the suspension of funding for road construction and repair. Experts warn that millions of Ukrainians will feel the consequences of such disruptions.
Lack of support from the EU and the IMF exacerbates the crisis
The Government of Ukraine is counting on financial support from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, but both organisations require Kyiv to pass a number of key laws. Without them, funding will be cut off, which will have a negative impact on the economy and social stability.
Andriy Motovylovets stressed that the delay in voting undermines the trust of international partners and jeopardises the loans needed to support Ukraine in its war and reconstruction.
The need for political consolidation
Experts and MPs are calling on the parliament to quickly pass the bills that will ensure the flow of funding and the stability of state payments. They emphasise the importance of political unity in this difficult time for the country.
Without such a step, the government will have to look for alternative ways to solve budget problems, which could lead to additional economic difficulties and social tensions.
