Compulsory evacuation announced in Kharkiv region
The Kharkiv regional military administration reported on forced evacuation of the population from 40 settlements in the Kupiansk district.
This decision was made in connection with constant shelling and the threat of intensified hostilities in border communities.
The risk zone includes settlements located near the front line, where Russian troops are conducting artillery and mortar attacks.
Evacuation is mandatory
According to the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, evacuation is mandatory, and local residents are provided with transport, temporary housing and humanitarian aid.
Particular attention is paid to Children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
«We urge everyone not to wait for the last moment. Safety is the most important thing,» the administration stressed.
All evacuees will receive assistance from the government and international partners.
Situation in the Kupiansk sector remains tense
In recent weeks, the enemy has intensified attacks on Ukrainian military positions near Kupiansk.
According to the General Staff, The Russian army is trying to break through the defence, using assault groups and aircraft.
The Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions, but the authorities are emphatic: civilians staying in the area of shelling creates an additional threat to their lives.
