On the night of 6 October, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Dzerzhinsk (Nizhny Novgorod region) and a fire broke out near the Sverdlov plant, a large defence enterprise that produces explosives. Videos of flames burning over the industrial area are circulating online.

Regional governor Gleb Nikitin said that air defence forces «repelled an attack by five UAVs» on approach to the industrial area, with no damage or casualties reported. He made no mention of a fire at the plant.
