
Five NATO member states - Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Latvia - joined a joint initiative with Rebuilding rehabilitation centres for the Ukrainian military, who suffered during the war.
The project is being implemented as part of the international programme «Renovator».
Latvia has joined the programme
According to the Ministry of Defence of Lithuania, today, 7 October, the Renovator initiative was joined by Latvia.
Thus, the project already brings together five states, which coordinates the financing, construction and equipment of rehabilitation centres in Ukraine.
«The goal is to help Ukraine create a long-term rehabilitation system for wounded soldiers,» the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence said.
Renovator programme«
The Renovator project envisages Restoration and construction of medical and rehabilitation facilities for Ukrainian defenders.
The first objects are already being implemented with the support of Lithuania and Norway, with further expansion of the programme to other regions of Ukraine.
«Each new partner is an additional support for our soldiers undergoing rehabilitation after the frontline», - said the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
International support for Ukraine
The NATO initiative demonstrates Allies' commitment to long-term assistance to Ukraine, In particular, in the field of medicine, psychological support and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers.
