Cabinet of Ministers expands grounds for compensation to families of fallen soldiers
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that expands the list of persons and cases, under which the families of killed or missing servicemen are entitled to compensation for unused holiday leave.
Who is entitled to compensation
From now on, the payments apply not only to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also to all military formations and special forces with law enforcement functions, including:
The National Guard,
The State Border Guard Service,
State Special Communications,
SBU,
The National Police, etc.
New terms of receipt
The government's decision involves several important changes:
Compensation can be obtained even in cases of captivity, internment or disappearance.
A serviceman may independently determine the identity of, which will be paid after his death.
The parents, spouse, children and dependents of the deceased are also entitled to compensation.
Procedure for submitting and reviewing applications
The application for payment is submitted by a family member or a designated person.
Commander (or head of the institution) is obliged to make a decision within 15 days after receiving all the necessary documents.
