A drone attacks the location of the «Akhmat» unit in Gudermes»
On the night of 2 December, an explosion occurred in Gudermes in the area where the Akhmat unit is located. Local channels reported the following drone strike on the territory used by Kadyrov's security forces.
A photo posted by eyewitnesses shows a large flash and explosion that occurred on the outskirts of the city.
Official information
The Chechen authorities have not yet provided a detailed comment on the incident. All that is known so far is that the consequences are being clarified, and law enforcement agencies and emergency services arrived at the scene.
Russian media traditionally provide limited coverage of such cases, especially if they involve units close to the Chechen leadership.
Context.
The Akhmat unit plays an active role in Russia's aggression against Ukraine and is often the target of information and military attacks. In recent months, explosions and incidents at military facilities have been reported in Chechnya, but official comments have remained minimal.
The attack in Gudermes was yet another case that demonstrates the growing vulnerability of Russia's domestic military facilities.
