Poland remains Ukraine's security partner

Poland decides to continue financing the operation of satellite communication terminals Starlink in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Digitalisation of the Republic of Poland.

This is a support programme that enables the Ukrainian military, government agencies and critical infrastructure to access reliable internet connectivity even in the most challenging conditions.

Why this decision is critical

  1. Supplying the front line. Starlink is a key communication tool for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure has been destroyed.

  2. Sustainability of public administration. Thanks to the satellite internet, Ukrainian authorities can work even during massive Russian attacks on the energy system.

  3. International solidarity. Poland has once again demonstrated that its support for Ukraine is not limited to military or humanitarian aid, but also includes the technological sphere.

Context: Starlink's role in the Ukrainian war

Starlink terminals provided by the company SpaceX, Since the first days of the war, they have been an integral part of Ukraine's defence strategy. They provide:

  • a secure channel for coordinating military operations;

  • the ability to control drones and other equipment;

  • access to the Internet in remote and destroyed areas.

Experts estimate that without Starlink, the Ukrainian army would have lost a significant portion of its mobility and efficiency.

What's next

The funding from Poland is expected to last at least until the end of 2025. This will help stabilise the operation of thousands of terminals, deploy new ones and upgrade equipment in critical areas.

Analysts believe that this decision not only strengthens the Ukrainian army, but also sets an example for other allies - support for Ukraine in times of war should include not only weapons, but also technology.
