DIU destroys occupiers' air defence facilities in Crimea
On the night of 1 to 2 November, the forces of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted an operation against the positions of Russian air defence systems S-400 Triumph« in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to intelligence, the attack destroyed a radar 92N6E, power supply system for the control centre, and airfield radars «AORL-1AS» і P-18 Terek«.
Details of the operation
The operation took place at night, allegedly with the use of attack drones and long-range missiles. The Ukrainian side reported that the aim was to weaken the Russian air defence system, which covers military airfields and logistics facilities on the peninsula.
Consequences for the occupiers
As a result of the strike, the enemy lost part of the radar coverage of the northern and western parts of Crimea. This will make it more difficult for Russians to detect Ukrainian drones and missiles, which could open up new opportunities for further operations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Context.
In recent months, the GUR and the Defence Forces have repeatedly attacked military infrastructure on the peninsula, including warehouses, air defence systems and airfields used to launch missiles into Ukraine.
