In Odesa region, SBU officers exposed the leadership of the «renewed MSEC» in a large-scale corruption scheme.
The officials are suspected of systematically selling fake medical certificates.
According to the investigation, employees of the medical and social expert commission set up a mechanism for illegally obtaining documents that gave them the right:
for a disability group,
evasion of mobilisation,
Receiving social benefits.
The SBU found that the «cost of services» could reach several thousand dollars.
«The actions of the officials posed real threats to national security during the war, as they allowed them to evade military duty,» the agency said.
Law enforcement officers conducted searches and seized documents and cash. The management of the «renewed MSEK» was notified of suspicion under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that provide for liability for corruption and abuse of office.
The SBU emphasises that the work to expose such schemes continues throughout the country.
