Ukrainians will no longer receive spam calls: new rules for mobile operators have come into effect
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution allowing mobile operators to block spam calls and the subscriber numbers from which they are made.
This means that from now on, mobile users will be able to receive fewer unwanted advertising or fraudulent calls.
How it will work
Mobile operators have been granted the right to identify and block:
calls that have signs of mass spam calls;
numbers from which unwanted calls are regularly made;
suspicious schemes with automatic calls.
Such measures should improve the protection of subscribers from intrusive advertising and telephone fraud.
What the Cabinet of Ministers says
The government emphasises that the resolution is aimed at protecting consumer rights and creating a safer environment for mobile users.
It is expected that the effectiveness of the new rules will become apparent in the near future.
