Italy approves new military support package for Ukraine

Italy is officially approved another military aid package for Ukraine. The relevant decree was signed by the Minister of Defence Guido Crozetto; The document was approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Italy.

According to the decree, Ukraine will receive a new batch of military materials, machinery and equipment, prepared by the General Staff.

Classified list

The full list of nomenclature is the same as in the previous packages, not disclosed for security reasons. The Italian authorities emphasise that this is necessary to ensure the protection of supply routes and to prevent attacks on warehouses or transit points.

Previous unopened packages have included air defence systems, electronic warfare equipment, artillery systems, ammunition, armoured vehicles and winter gear - so experts expect the new package to have a similar composition.

Context.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Italy has remained one of Ukraine's key partners within the European Union and NATO. Rome participates in joint training programmes for the Ukrainian military, provides technical, humanitarian and energy support, and contributes to the creation of long-term security guarantees.
