The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate over UAH 700 million for road repairs in three regions

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has additionally allocated over UAH 700 million to repair strategically important roads in Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava regions - routes that support military logistics and civilian evacuation.

The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate over UAH 700 million for road repairs

The Government of Ukraine has decided to to allocate an additional UAH 700 million for the restoration and repair of roads in Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, The President stressed the importance of maintaining the transport infrastructure that ensures the operation of military and humanitarian routes.

«These are important logistical roads for the movement of military equipment, humanitarian supplies and evacuation of people. We continue to keep the transport arteries in good working order to ensure the efficiency of supplies and the safety of civilians,» Svyrydenko said.


Where the work will be carried out

The funding will be channelled through State Agency for the Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
It is planned to hold repair and restoration of the coating on the busiest road sections connecting key cities and logistics hubs in the three regions.

In particular, the works will cover:

  • transport corridors Sumy - Poltava and Kharkiv - Lozova;

  • The areas through which the military convoys, humanitarian convoys and evacuation flights;

  • roads connecting frontline communities with regional centres.


Context.

The decision was made within the framework of the programme «The Great Recovery», The programme provides for the restoration of critical infrastructure in the regions that have suffered the greatest destruction as a result of Russian attacks.
Since the beginning of the year, the government has already financed over UAH 11 billion for the repair of bridges and local roads.
