Cabinet of Ministers approves new types of military contracts: service period from 1 to 5 years
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a new system of military contracts that will be in effect in all units of the security and defence sector - The Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and other formations.
Main provisions:
Service life under the contract from 1 to 5 years.
After contracts with a term of 2-5 years servicemen will receive a one-year deferral from mobilisation.
Provides for annual bonuses, as well as additional payments for participants in combat operations.
The new contract will be signed by reservists, military in reserve, mobilised.
Active military personnel will have the opportunity to renegotiate the contract under the new terms.
Context.
The government explains the reform as necessary modernise the personnel system, The Ministry of Defence is committed to increasing motivation and making the service more structured in the context of a prolonged war.
The document has already been submitted for consideration Verkhovna Rada, which should adopt the necessary legislative changes.
