
German Minister of Economy Catherine Reiche arrives in Kyiv
In Kyiv arrived Katherine Reiche, Minister of Economy of Germany.
During her visit, she will hold a series of meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian government to discuss energy cooperation and winterisation.
«Stability of energy supply is extremely important for Ukraine right now. We must provide urgent assistance and determine how Germany can provide more concrete and effective support,» Reiche said in Kyiv.
The main purpose of the visit
During the negotiations, the parties discussed:
supply power equipment, generators and transformers;
support for Ukrainian enterprises involved in restoration of critical infrastructure;
coordinating actions within the framework of the joint European assistance mechanism in the run-up to the winter period.
According to Reiche, Berlin is committed to helping more targeted and technical, to respond quickly to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
Context.
Germany is already one of Ukraine's main partners in energy support.
In 2024, Germany provided equipment and funding for more than €400 million, The company's products include stand-alone power stations, transformers, cable systems and heating systems for civilian facilities.
After Catherine Reiche's visit, Berlin is expected to announce A new aid package for Ukraine's energy sector, which may be agreed at the EU level as early as December.
