China sets a new Guinness World Record by launching more than 15,000 drones simultaneously
15,947 drones created a grandiose light show controlled from a single computer
China has established a new Guinness World Record, and launching it into the sky 15,947 drones simultaneously. The drones formed giant three-dimensional shapes, creating the largest light show in the world.
According to Chinese media, all the drones were synchronised and controlled from a single computer. Coordination of this level required highly accurate software and an artificial intelligence system that ensured the stable flight of each vehicle.
The organisers note that there was not a single collision or technical failure during the show - all 15,947 drones operated in sync.
The previous record was also held by China - in 2020, about 13,000 drones, but the new show surpassed it by almost 3,000 units.
The light show lasted about 20 minutes, during which the figures of birds, planets, rockets and symbols of the upcoming year according to the Chinese calendar appeared in the sky.
