The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba issued an official statement in which categorically denies the participation of its citizens or military in Russia's war against Ukraine.
The document notes that Havana does not participate in armed conflict and condemns any attempts to link the country to the fighting.

«Cuba is not involved in the war in Ukraine. We reject any statements that attempt to distort the position of our country,» the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, the media reported that some Cuban citizens allegedly fights as part of Russian units or was recruited to participate in the war against Ukraine.
This is not the first time that Havana has made such refutations, emphasising that Cuba's official policy is neutrality and a call for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

EU and Latin American diplomats note that Cuba tries to distance itself from Russian military initiatives, maintaining a balance between Moscow and the West.
Experts believe that this position is intended to avoid new sanctions and international pressure.
