Kyiv is preparing to switch from emergency to predictable outage schedules
In the capital of Ukraine, power engineers have developed a number of technical solutions, that will allow a gradual transition from emergency power outages to Tight but predictable schedules. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.
According to him, the implementation of such solutions should reduce the chaotic nature of outages and provide consumers with greater predictability in the use of electricity.
What will change for Kyiv residents
The head of the Ministry of Energy noted that the new approach provides for:
clear timeframes for outages;
better synchronisation between dispatch centres;
Reducing the number of emergency restrictions.
This will allow consumers - both household and business - to plan your activities even in the face of capacity shortages.
Context.
Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine are experiencing regular power cuts due to Russia's massive attacks on energy infrastructure. In the face of damage to generation facilities and grids, energy companies are forced to use emergency shutdowns to maintain the stability of the power system.
The transition to predictive schedules is seen as intermediate stage of stabilisation, while the damaged facilities are being restored.
