Heat supply limited in Kyiv after massive combined shelling
Heat supply in Kyiv has been temporarily restricted as a result of massive nighttime shelling. According to the city authorities, several districts have been affected by the problems.
They are currently without full heat supply:
Pechersk district
Holosiivskyi district
As well as individual buildings in:
Shevchenkivskyi
Solomianskyi
Svyatoshinsky
Darnytskyi
Dnipro district
Reason for the restrictions
Limitations of heat supply may be related to strikes on CHPP-5 and CHPP-6, which were among the targets of the night attack. According to power engineers, after the strike The CHPPs were forced to relieve pressure in the system. This led to a temporary drop in heat supply parameters, and the heating networks are operating in a stabilisation mode to avoid accidents.
Emergency crews are diagnosing the damaged equipment, and some units have already been disconnected for inspection.
Work of the services
Utility companies are working in an emergency mode. The city is preparing backup heat supply schemes to stabilise the supply in the affected areas as quickly as possible.
Residents are urged to keep their apartments warm and follow the updates from the Kyiv City State Administration.
