More than 2,600 residential buildings remain without heating in Kyiv
In the capital of Ukraine, more than 2,600 residential buildings, as well as 187 kindergartens, 138 schools і 22 social care institutions. This was announced by the mayor of Kyiv.
Details of the situation
According to the mayor, the heat supply interruptions are due to damage to the energy and heating infrastructure following the Russian attacks. Residential areas and social infrastructure facilities, where heat is critical in the winter, have been most affected.
Special services and emergency crews are working in an intensified mode to restore power and heat supply to all districts of the city as soon as possible.
Work of the services
The city authorities note that repair work is ongoing. Specialists from energy companies, heating networks and utilities are involved. Priority is being given to social facilities, including kindergartens, schools and institutions where vulnerable people live.

The problems with heat supply arose against the backdrop of another combined Russian attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Kyiv, like other regions, is suffering the consequences of systemic attacks aimed at destabilising the operation of critical facilities in winter.
