Massive shelling of Kyiv region: fires and destruction in three districts
On the night of 6 December, the Russian army carried out a massive combined shelling of the Kyiv region. Three districts came under fire at once - Fastiv, Vyshgorod and Bucha. As a result of the attack, three civilians sustained injuries of varying severity.
Rescue services and utility crews have been working at the impact sites since the early hours of the morning. Some of the fires are still being extinguished, and the debris is being cleared and the damage assessed.
Fastiv: fires and destruction on railway infrastructure
In Fastiv, the attack led to large-scale fires at the railway station and the engine and carriage depot. Rescuers report significant damage to infrastructure and buildings used for rolling stock maintenance.
Novi Petrivtsi: destroyed warehouses and residential buildings
In Vyshhorod district, in the village of Novi Petrivtsi, the wreckage of a downed enemy UAV fell on a warehouse building, causing a fire of 5500 sq. m.
In addition, three trucks caught fire in the village, one residential building was destroyed and six more were damaged by the blast wave and debris.
Non-residential: fire and destruction of a private building
A fire and destruction of a private house was reported in Nezhilovychi, Buchansky district. Rescue units promptly localised the fire, are working to clear the area and check for people under the rubble.
The region continues to eliminate the consequences
The State Emergency Service, police, medics and power engineers are working in an intensified mode. The power supply is being restored, the territories are being cleared and Russia's war crimes are being documented.
