Some consumers in Kyiv region switched to backup schemes due to equipment damage

In Kyiv region, some residents are temporarily receiving electricity supply under backup schemes after equipment damage at one of the power stations. This was reported by the company DTEK Kyiv Regional Power Grids.

The company notes that switching to backup lines may result in reduced voltage in households. Power engineers are working to restore normal operation of the grid.

A call to save energy

DTEK asked the residents to temporarily stay there:

  • reduce the use of powerful electrical appliances;

  • avoid peak loads;

  • to consume electricity rationally.

This is necessary in order to prevent additional emergency shutdowns, until the network is stabilised.

Power engineers work on site

Emergency crews are already carrying out diagnostic and repair work. The exact timeframe for the full restoration of power supply has not yet been announced.
