President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Kyrylo Budanov as head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the appointment of Kirill Budanov manager Office of the President of Ukraine.

Priorities of the Presidential Office

According to the Head of State, Ukraine now needs maximum focus on security issues, development Defence and Security Forces of Ukraine, and active work on the diplomatic direction as part of the negotiation process.

«The Office of the President will serve primarily to fulfil such tasks of our state. Kyrylo has special experience in these areas and sufficient strength to achieve results,» Zelenskyy said.

New assignments

The President also instructed Budanov to in cooperation with the secretary National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, as well as with other leaders and state institutions:

  • refresh Strategic foundations of defence and development of Ukraine;

  • prepare next steps in the field of security and defence planning;

  • present the documents developed for approval.

Context.

Budanov's appointment comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts around possible formats for ending the war and the need for enhanced coordination between the military and security bloc and civilian authorities.
