Magnetic test track in China
A world record was set in China - a maglev was accelerated to 700 km/h in 2 seconds.

In China, a muggle train has set a world record by accelerating to 700 km/h in 2 seconds

China has established world speed record for muggle transport on the test platform. During the tests, the experimental train on a magnetic cushion accelerated to 700 km/h in just 2 seconds, reports ECNS.

Test details

According to the newspaper, Chinese scientists have protested experimental muggle train, which:

  • has no wheels and moves thanks to magnetic levitation;

  • weighs about 1 tonne;

  • moved by a special a 400-metre-long magnetic track.

Acceleration to a record speed took only 2 seconds, after which the device successfully braked, confirming the system's controllability.

World record

It is noted that this is the highest speed in the world, recorded for muggle transport in the conditions of the test platform of this type. This achievement opens up new opportunities for the development of ultra-high-speed land transport.

Technologies of the future

Chinese researchers see this technology as the basis for:

  • ultra-high-speed passenger trains of the new generation;

  • vacuum transport systems (including concepts such as Hyperloop);

  • reducing the time of transport between megacities to a matter of minutes.

Context.

China is actively investing in the development of high-speed transport and already has the world's largest high-speed railway network. Maglev technologies are seen as the next stage in the evolution of the country's transport infrastructure.
