Lytvyn denies Le Monde's information about Ukraine's «consent to the demilitarised zone in Donbas»
Advisor to the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Lytvyn denied the information of the French edition Le Monde, which claimed that Ukraine had allegedly agreed to the creation of a of the demilitarised zone in Donbas.
Lytvyn stressed that the publication incorrectly translated and presented the words of Mykhailo Podoliak, This led to a misinterpretation of Ukraine's position.
As explained by the President's Office
According to Lytvyn, in their conversation, Podoliak said that:
- «different scenarios can be discussed»;
- «but it all depends on the details and how it can work in practice.».
That is, it was not about consent, but about theoretical possibility of discussion, This is not the same as making any political decisions.

Zelenskyy's advisor stressed that:
- The issue of such large-scale decisions is approved by exclusively at the highest political level;
- or by the will of the people of Ukraine;
- No official can independently confirm such arrangements.
