Russian troops attack energy infrastructure in Odesa region at night

On the night of 10 February, Russian troops struck again at energy infrastructure facilities in the south of the region.

According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, the following were recorded as a result of the attack damage to a power facility, which caused a fire. Also damaged was administrative building next door.

Currently no information about the victims was received.

Some communities left without electricity supply

Due to damage to the energy infrastructure settlements in three communities of Odesa region are partially de-energised.

Critical infrastructure facilities were transferred to backup power supply from generators, to ensure the continued operation of key services and life support systems.

Context.

Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy sector have been ongoing since the beginning of the full-scale war and intensify during periods of increased load on the energy system.

Attacks on substations, power grids and generation facilities are aimed at creating electricity shortages, infrastructure disruptions and pressure on civilians.

Power engineers and rescuers are working quickly to eliminate the consequences of the attack and restore power supply.
