
Mandatory evacuation of children announced in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions
The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine has approved the decision to mandatory evacuation of children with their parents from a number of settlements Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
This was reported in the department following the meeting Evacuation Coordination Headquarters, which is overseen by the Deputy Minister Tatiana Kiriyenko.
Evacuation from the frontline areas
The decision was made in connection with Increased threat of shelling and active hostilities near the front line. The evacuation applies to children and families from settlements located less than 50 km from the combat zone.
Also evacuated children from orphanages and care institutions, located in dangerous areas.
Additional activities
The Ministry said it was considering Opening of another transit centre in Kharkiv region, which will help to receive evacuated families and temporarily accommodate them until they are sent to safe regions.
«The safety of children is our top priority. Every child should be in a place where explosions are not heard,» said Tatyana Kiriyenko.
Scale of evacuation
Since June 2025, frontline regions have already more than 124 thousand people were evacuated, including more than 14.5 thousand children.
Currently, there are 20 transit centres and more 1000 temporary accommodation centres for internally displaced persons.
