Ukraine launches large-scale checks of «tax evaders»: dozens of suspicions have already been announced
Large-scale inspections of men who have been deferred from mobilisation on the basis of medical documents or the need to care for relatives with disabilities are underway in Ukraine. This was reported by the To the National Police of Ukraine.
Details of the case
According to law enforcement, as part of nationwide measures, the following have already been 110 people received notices of suspicion for evading military service. This refers to the possible use of forged or illegally obtained documents that gave grounds for postponement of mobilisation.
The police note that the checks cover both the persons liable for military service and those who may have been involved in the production or issuance of fake certificates.
Context.
Following the intensification of mobilisation measures in Ukraine, law enforcement agencies have stepped up their efforts to combat service evasion schemes. The most common of these remain the falsification of medical reports and registration of care for persons with disabilities without factual grounds.
The National Police emphasises that the inspections will continue, and all established facts of violations will receive a proper legal assessment.
