Massive blackouts and critically low voltage in the regions of Ukraine: the power system is operating in emergency mode

As a result of serious problems in Ukraine's power system, a number of regions have experienced massive power outages and critically low voltage. This was reported by local media and the Ministry of Energy.

According to regional sources, in Lutsk and Rivne the voltage in the power grid has dropped to a dangerous level. Residents are asked to Immediately unplug all electrical appliances from the sockets, to prevent them from being damaged by possible power surges.

Which areas are without power

У Ministry of Energy report that they are almost completely without electricity:

• Rivne region

• Ternopil region

• Khmelnytskyi region

Also, emergency shutdowns are recorded in the:

• Vinnytsia

• Chernihivska

• Zhytomyrska

• Donetsk

• Dnipropetrovska

• Kharkiv region

Ukraine's energy system operates in emergency mode. Experts are carrying out stabilisation measures and gradually restoring power, but the timing of the power return depends on the state of the networks and the load.

Citizens are called upon:

• minimise electricity consumption;

• Do not switch on powerful appliances unnecessarily;

• follow the official announcements of regional administrations and energy companies.
