Interior Ministry urges Ukrainians to stockpile water and food

Russian attacks on infrastructure are aimed at leave Ukrainians without electricity, heat and water, Therefore, citizens should be prepared for a possible deterioration of the situation and take care of the necessary supplies in advance. This was reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

What is the first thing to prepare?

The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends forming a basic stock of necessary items:

  • water - Approximately 3 litres of drinking water and 11-12 litres of technical water per person per day;

  • Long-term storage products and necessary medicines;

  • a suitcase of essentials with documents, hygiene products, warm clothes, a first aid kit, heating equipment and a supply of cash.

Special attention is advised to be paid to children and pets - explain safety rules and prepare water and food for them.

Security measures

Citizens are also advised:

  • keep an eye on official communications from the authorities;

  • hold charged phones and alternative power sources;

  • unnecessarily do not stay outside, especially at night.

The authorities emphasise that Preparing the population in advance is a key factor in mitigating risks during possible emergencies.
