Large-scale fire in Mykolaiv after drone attack

On the night of 3 November, Russian drones attacked Mykolaiv. A large supermarket caught fire as a result of the strike, and another fire was reported at a service station.

Night attack on Mykolaiv - a supermarket burned down

Around midnight, Russian forces launched another drone attack on Mykolaiv. According to local authorities, a large-scale fire broke out in one of the city's supermarkets as a result of the hit.

The area of the fire reached approximately 2000 sq m.
Rescuers promptly localised the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring buildings.

«The fire was completely extinguished, there were no casualties,» the State Emergency Service said.


Another fire at a service station

The second point of ignition was recorded on the territory of the service station.
The area of the fire was about 30 sq. m. The fire damaged several cars and smashed windows in a nearby residential building.

The State Emergency Service, police and utility services were on the scene.

In recent weeks, Mykolaiv region has been experiencing increased attacks by Shahed kamikaze drones. Most of them are shot down by air defences, but debris or blast waves often cause fires in residential areas and industrial facilities.
