Ukraine is preparing a new approach to mobilisation with voluntary contracts - Venislavskyi

Ukraine is preparing a renewed approach to mobilisation, which provides for the introduction of voluntary contracts for 2-5 years. This was reported by the MP Fyodor Venislavsky.

What is proposed to be changed

According to the MP, the new model should combine:

  • voluntary format of service under the contract;

  • clearly defined terms of service in the army - from two to five years;

  • system motivational guarantees for military personnel.

What incentives are provided for

Key incentives can include:

  • a year of guaranteed holidays after two years of service at the front;

  • significant financial payments;

  • expected conditions of service and social guarantees.

These changes are expected to increase voluntary participation in the defence of the state and to make the army recruitment system more stable.

Context.

The issue of mobilisation remains one of the most sensitive in society amid the ongoing full-scale war.

The state is looking for a balance between the needs of the frontline, fair distribution of the load and motivation of the military, This may determine the country's future defence model.
