Fuel will rise by 4 hryvnias by the end of the year - expert forecast

Fuel expert Dmitry Lyoushkin said that by the end of this year, Ukrainians will see a gradual increase in fuel prices.

• At the end of December - an additional rise in price of approximately 2 UAH/l.

Thus, by the end of 2025, fuel may rise in price overall by UAH 4 per litre.

Reasons for the increase

The expert names the main growth factors:

• seasonal increase in fuel demand;

• fluctuations in oil prices on global markets;

• the strengthening of the dollar and exchange rate fluctuations;

• logistical costs and difficulties with the supply of oil products during the war.

What drivers can expect

Leushkin predicts that the average price of petrol may reach UAH 70 per litre, and diesel fuel about 68 UAH/l at the end of December.

According to the expert, the government is unlikely to be able to significantly influence the situation without stabilising the currency market and ensuring stable supplies.
