Ukrainian delegation sums up trilateral talks and expects exchange of prisoners

The Ukrainian delegation reported on the results of today's trilateral talks with representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia. The discussion of the interim results took place after a series of meetings and contacts with the American side.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine, who stressed that the negotiation process would continue the next day.

The Ukrainian authorities emphasise that citizens should to feel real progress towards the end of the war, instead of watching Russia's attempts to use the talks to its advantage and continue its attacks.

No reward for the aggressor

Kyiv's principled position is also emphasised: There can be no reward for the aggressor state. The Ukrainian side believes that any concessions to Russia will only create preconditions for the disruption of future agreements and a new round of aggression.

That is why the negotiation process is seen not as a compromise at any cost, but as a way to a just and secure peace.
