Training of reserve officers will become mandatory for students of medical and pharmaceutical specialities
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko said that the training of reserve officers will be mandatory for students studying at medical and pharmaceutical specialities.
According to her, this decision was made in order to strengthen the personnel reserve in military medicine, The state should ensure a sufficient number of trained specialists and increase the mobilisation potential of the state.
Context.
The need for qualified military medics has increased dramatically since the outbreak of full-scale war.
The government emphasises that doctors and pharmacists play a key role in the system of treatment of the wounded, evacuation and supply of medicines to the army.
The new rules integrate military medical training in the process of university education, after which students will receive rank of reserve officer.
