Battalion commander served suspicion notice over deaths of soldiers during award ceremony in Dnipro region
The State Bureau of Investigation has served a notice of suspicion to commander of one of the battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which 1 November in the Dnipro region organised awarding personnel in contravention of the order of the General Staff.
During the ceremony, which took place in the open air, Russian troops carried out missile and drone attack, which resulted in military and civilian casualties.
«The commander ignored the current ban on holding mass events in the frontline regions. His actions led to serious consequences,» the SBI said.
According to the investigation, the General Staff had earlier banned holding any gatherings in areas under constant threat of shelling.
Nevertheless, the commander decided to hold the award ceremony without providing proper shelter or dispersal of personnel.
To him. a notice of suspicion has been served for ч. 3 Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligent attitude to military service, which led to serious consequences).
SBI investigators request detention as a precautionary measure.
