Poland's General Staff confirms Warsaw is in talks with Ukraine on the possibility of transferring fighter jets MiG-29 in exchange for access to a number of Ukrainian missile and drone technologies. This was reported by Ukrainian Pravda.
The agency noted that discussions are ongoing, but the Polish side has not yet made a final decision.
Joint development of the defence industry
The statement emphasised that it was not only about compensation for the transferred equipment, but primarily about expanding technological cooperation.
«The goal is not only to compensate for the equipment, but primarily to acquire and jointly develop new defence and industrial capabilities,» the General Staff said.
Experts note that the potential agreement could become one of the most ambitious in the field of defence partnership between Kyiv and Warsaw in recent years.
