German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius said that the war in the Strait of Hormuz is not a NATO war. According to him, this situation has nothing to do with the Alliance.
Berlin has officially refused to support Donald Trump's initiative to protect shipping in the region. Germany will not participate in US-led military operations in the Middle East.

Stefan Cornelius emphasised: «This war has nothing to do with NATO. This is not a NATO war».
He stressed that Germany will not change its position on participation in military operations in the Strait of Hormuz. The German government is committed to diplomatic resolution of conflicts.
