Talks between Ukraine and Russia continue, progress expected in the coming weeks
US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are ongoing, and further progress is likely in the coming weeks.
He wrote about this on social media, commenting on the results of recent diplomatic contacts.
Prisoner exchange as a result of negotiations
According to Witkoff, this week Ukraine and Russia conducted another prisoner exchange.
As part of the agreements reached during the trilateral talks in Geneva with the participation of United States, returned home around 1000 people.
US announces further diplomatic efforts
The American diplomat noted that the exchange was made possible through lengthy negotiations and diplomatic efforts.
He also thanked Switzerland for organising and conducting the negotiation process.
According to Witkoff, work on the future peace agreement is ongoing.
