Polish hotel owner donates money from anti-Ukrainian congress to help Ukraine
The Confederation party's congress was held in a hotel complex owned by a businessman Vladislav Grokhovsky, in the town of Łochów near Warsaw. This was reported by the Polish edition Rzeczpospolita.
The event had a paid entrance fee:
from 150 PLN for students
to 5000 PLN for the status of «patron»
In total, the event was attended by over 550 people.
Why the owner didn't cancel the event
Local residents attempted to disrupt the event, including by filing a petition, arguing that the organisers' views were anti-Ukrainian. However, according to Polish law, the owner of the venue had no legal grounds to refuse to rent the premises.
