President of Poland Peter Navrotsky said during a meeting with voters that Poland has been helping Ukrainian refugees for the last year, and after this period, the government will not extend existing support programmes.

Context.
Poland has been one of Ukraine's key partners since 2022:
provided the largest amount of support to Ukrainian internally displaced persons in the EU;
has provided housing, medical care, access to the labour market and education to more than 1 million Ukrainians;
has spent billions from the budget on social programmes for refugees.
In 2025, political discussions about cost-cutting intensified in Warsaw, leading to Navrotsky's announcement that the programmes would end.
